Aldea Felina

As you are probably unaware of I am a volunteer at the Aldea Felina cat shelter in Denia. Aldea Felina (Cat hamlet/village) is a located in a deserted house in the middle of the orange groves between Denia, Ondara, Vergel and Els Poblets. There is no electricity or running water.

Aldea Felina is run by the local vet (Luisa) with the help of an international set of volunteers (Spanish, German, English, Dutch). The volunteers (together with the vet) feed the cats, clean the shelter and look after the cats' medical needs (vaccinations and treatments).

I shot some pictures at the shelter. Click on the pictures for a larger image. For more information you can also visit Aldea's page on KatzenTV.net.

Me in front of the shelter with a cat that somebody threw out. The cat has since then been homed.

Lorraine, a fearsome person on whose good side I fortunately still am (I think... :-)

Jonquil.... Very Lovely....

Cats basking in the sunshine...

This red one is in somewhat of a bad condition.

One of my favourite kittens...

You don't want to come across this one on a typical Friday 13th :-)

The cats love to climb fences...

See what I mean?

Luisa's favourite cat...

This one was climbing my trousers when I kneeled down...
